Support businesses on Brackmills to grow, develop and invest by creating a working environment through these activities and all other activities identified in this range of objectives

Regular projects the BID performs includes:

Encouraging new investment on the estate and working with landlords

BID

In the summer of 2018, the BID invited property owners and landlords to an event in London to showcase the estate to help attract new tenants. A new investment prospectus for our estate was created and available to download

Information and Profiling

BID Website

The estate undertakes a number of activities to communicate to businesses on the estate and levy payers.

BID Newsletters: The BID produces and distributes e-newsletter fortnightly and paper newsletters throughout the year. To be added on to the distribution list please contact the BID team.

BID Website: The BID website was first launched in 2009, and in 2018 was relaunched to provide information for businesses on the estate, the estate community and new investors. The site includes a Business Directory and Incident section.

BID Social Media: The estate has a Facebook and Twitter accounts to relay news and information to the estate businesses and those who work on the estate. The BID also post You Tube videos profiling the BID and the estate

AGM and Estate Groups: The BID holds its Annual General Meeting each September open to all members. The next AGM will take place on the 24th September 2019.

The estate holds regular events throughout the year to inform businesses and to encourage networking. Events topics have included Clandestine drops, apprenticeships, working with the Armed Forces to employ veterans etc.

Business Surgeries: The estate organises monthly surgeries for businesses to meet with the estate team and our PCSO held at the Costa Coffee on Tungsten Business Park on Caswell Road between 12noon and 2pm. The 2019 dates include: Friday 20th September 2019, Friday 18th October 2019, Friday 15th November 2019 and Friday 13th December 2019.

Incident Support

Incident

The BID has worked with Northamptonshire County Council’s Emergency Planning team since 2009 to work to support businesses if an incident occurs on the estate.

An estate Incident Plan “Operation Windmill” was launched to help support in major incidents whether this be Fire & Flood, Snowfall, Road Traffic Accidents or Travellers etc.

The estate team also visit businesses affected by incidents to signpost to partners to provide support.

New projects being explored by the BID in 2019-2024:

Business Continuity and Emergency Planning

In collaboration with the emergencies services and businesses the BID is working on a series of projects to support businesses on the estate to mitigate the impact of an event or emergency situation in Brackmills.

Solutions are being identified and may include setting up an Emergency Planning group for the estate, flood prevention planning, flood & incident wardens and additional incident response and business communication tools and support for disaster recovery.
