The Brackmills Security group is partnering with the Health, Safety & Wellbeing Forum for a joint meeting.

We have invited guest speakers from East Midlands Counter Terrorism Policing Team to do a presentation on ‘Martyn’s Law’.
‘Martyn’s Law’ will place a requirement on those responsible for certain venues to consider the threat from terrorism and implement appropriate and proportionate mitigation measures.
The legislation will ensure that people are prepared, ready to respond and know what to do in the event of an attack. The legislation is part of the government’s response to the Manchester Arena Inquiry Volume 1 which recommended the introduction of legislation to improve the safety and security of public accessible venues. It’s anticipated that Martyn’s Law would come into legislation early 2024, if it is entered into parliamentary business in time. The key figures of ‘footfall’ for affected businesses are likely to be 100 persons and 800 persons.
