A new #Eat Heat Hope campaign launched by local charity the Hope Centre is being supported by businesses on a Northampton business and logistics estate.
Brackmills Industrial Estate, made up of more than 180 businesses, has pledged its support for the Hope Centre. The estate’s Business Improvement District (BID) team are encouraging staff on the estate to fill cardboard boxes with goodies for Christmas – food, toiletries, gifts and other essentials. The BID will then collect these boxes so they can distributed to families in need in time for Christmas Day.
BID CEO Sara Homer, also a trustee at the Hope Centre, said: “We are also encouraging people to donate. Just £25, the Hope Centre tell us, will feed a family for a week and to encourage people to give the BID will be matching donations £1 for £1 - up to £5,000. Parents say they are going without food so their children don't go without. We are also seeing a rising number finding themselves homeless. We need your help to bring food to our warehouse, so we can keep up with demand this winter.”
Here’s how to support Brackmills BID with this Hope Centre campaign:
1. Fill a box – with in-date tinned and dried goods, toiletries and personal hygiene items. When you have done this simply call or text Sara on 07891016896 and Sara will arrange for the box to get to the Hope Centre and to a family in time for Christmas.
2. Donate – and the BID will match your donation. Visit https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/brackmillsatChristmaS
