‘We are a taekwondo and kickboxing fitness club here on Brackmills and my job includes looking after our club governance and helping with the safeguarding and any specific policies that may be required.
The club was set up 20 years ago and the founder wanted a venue that could be turned into a gym and have the facilities that are required to bring big numbers of people together. We now have 15 clubs and Brackmills is brilliantly central. Being based here means people can visit from our other clubs – including Leicester, Coventry, and Market Harborough. It’s also really easily accessible by public transport, something we really value about Brackmills.
We really like working with the BID team. There are lots of forums and networking events that I’ve been attending, which help me meet and get to know other businesses on the estate.
We are currently planning lunchtime classes and are looking at both HIIT (high intensity interval training) and self-defence which the BID team will be helping us to promote. We are really excited about the BID’s new app, which we will encourage our clients to download and which will ensure our new classes can be promoted to employees all across the estate.”
