Meet our BID team

10th Jun 2025
BID team Jon Sara Charlotte

Meet our new Chair, recruited to help steer our estate’s projects, events and investment.

Jon Morgan is CEO of vehicle repair and servicing company In ‘n’ Out Autocentres - based on Caswell Road, Brackmills.

Jon said: “Brackmills is far more than just a place to work and is always buzzing with life and people. It is well cared for and well maintained and I am particularly proud of the green spaces and pocket parks. When In ‘n’ Out Autocentres first opened its Brackmills site in 2018 I was keen to find out more about the BID and promptly became a director. The BID team were looking for an office so I donated office space which is still the BID team’s  permanent home.

“I’m incredibly proud to be the BID’s new Chair and keen to get to know as many of our Brackmills businesses as possible. Moving ahead we would love to hold our monthly meetings at different venues on the estate, so if you have a board room we can borrow do let us know. In exchange you can promote your business, your staff can get involved in the meetings and you’ll get a unique insight into our status as a Business Improvement District and everything we are planning for the five years ahead.”

Brackmills, home to more than 180 businesses and 11,000 employees, has held Business Improvement District (BID) status for 15 years, an initiative which sees businesses pool an annual levy and use these funds exclusively for the benefit of the estate.

In March 2024 businesses on this Northampton estate voted in favour of plans to continue the estate’s status as a Business Improvement District (BID), securing a fund of nearly £2.3million which will be spent on improving the estate over the next five years. The new five-year BID term officially started in June 2024.

Sara Homer, Chief Executive of Brackmills BID, explained: “A huge thank you to Jon for joining us as our new Chair. We are already relishing Jon’s energy, commitment and expertise as we ramp up our focus on security, safety, infrastructure, the environment, our businesses and people.”

Our new five-year Brackmills BID, in place from June 2024, has the following objectives:

Objective 1 - Infrastructure
To provide a great infrastructure and a smart working environment for businesses to operate and people and services to access and move around, safely and effectively.

Objective 2 – Crime Prevention and Safety
To work closely with the Police and others to maintain a safe and secure working environment for freight transport, all vehicles, customers and people who work on the estate.

Objective 3 – Environment and Sustainability
To provide a smart, tidy and safe environment and focus on sustainability, exploring options for electric vehicle charging points – supporting businesses on their low carbon journeys.

Objective 4 – Supporting Businesses and People
To continue to support businesses on Brackmills to grow and develop, ensuring a great working environment in which people can thrive.
