A new Virtual Jobs Fair has been launched on Brackmills – with more than 1,000 jobs being advertised on this busy Northampton industrial estate.
The Brackmills Business Improvement District (BID), which represents businesses based on the estate, has launched its online jobs fair in response to both the seasonal increase in vacancies and the restrictions COVID-19 has placed on job hunters and businesses promoting vacancies.
Anyone who is seeking work or any businesses with vacancies to fill are encouraged to visit the jobs fair on the Brackmills website.
Charlotte Patrick, Vice Chair of Brackmills BID, said: “We are absolutely delighted to launch this new online space that promotes vacancies and apprenticeships on our industrial estate. Here on Brackmills, particularly as we move towards the peak season for logistics, there are an increasing number of job opportunities across a wide variety of roles and organisations, and we are keen to help get people into work and support businesses needing staff.”
Among the jobs being promoted online are positions at Cygnia and DHL. There are a large range of other big companies on Brackmills, such as Travis Perkins, Dachser, Asda, John Lewis, iPSL and many more.
Charlotte added: “As well as job vacancies, our Brackmills Virtual Job Fair includes useful resources from the University of Northampton and Job Centre Plus, and we’ll be increasing the content here as the site develops. There are also a number of short films, which promote just a handful of the opportunities.”
Simone Stanbra, Industrial Manager of ACS Recruitment, said: “With our office in the heart of Northampton, we have a lot of local roles, and this new Virtual Jobs Fair has been a great way for us to promote the roles we have for Brackmills. As we enter the peak season, there is a whole variety of opportunities available, and with Brackmills being such a nice place to work, we're so happy that we can help people find work there. Especially at a time when people may really need a job."
People Solutions is another of the local recruitment companies that has posted vacancies on the site. Tom Vaughan, National Operations Manager at People Solutions, said: "As with many other sectors, COVID-19 has greatly impacted recruitment. There have been a lot of restrictions and an end to most face to face meetings and job fair events. Therefore, this new Virtual Jobs Fair is a really exciting development. We regularly have vacancies on this Northampton industrial estate - everything from drivers and managers to pickers and admin staff - so being able to spread the word this way is going to be hugely beneficial."
