Here is a summary of January’s surgery, as explained by CEO Sara:

Great to meet so many employees and local residents. A retired, local resident popped into the surgery, having heard about it on our social media, to talk about the BID’s environmental projects. He wants to help and has a bank of volunteers who would like to support the estate on our litter picking projects. He also has access to funding that could potentially fund a programme of tree planting, at no cost to BID. We will be following this up and will keep you posted.

A senior member of staff from a business on Pavilion Drive attended joined us to ask questions about congestion on the estate. She wanted to know more and has offered to play a part in a potential project we have lined up with the University of Northampton – to monitor, record and tackle congestion. Again, we will keep you posted.

Another employee expressed a concern about the estate’s shared cycles and footpaths. He told us that that speedy cyclists were a safety threat to pedestrians on the shared cyclists/ pedestrian paths and requested signage and action to minimise the risk of an accident in the future. We have sourced signage and will be placing around 50 along Caswell Road, Gowerton Road, Salthouse Rd, Landimore Road.

We would like to remind staff that many of these signs were put up along Landimore road last November but within weeks they had been torn down and thrown into hedges. Please work with us to ensure this new signage stays in place, to keep our pedestrians and cyclist safe and secure.
